See What We Did In LA This month!

On November 16, Electric Karma spent the day at the Roosevelt hotel for Wedding Store 24’s LA Bridal Show. The event started with a cocktail hour in the lobby of the venue and moved into the main ballroom where wedding vendors, including our Electric Karma Team, greeted brides and families as they took a walk around gorgeous set ups of décor by Shawna Yamamoto and Kismet Events, among other designers! Live music performed by Anjali Ray added to the soft stunning setting of the ballroom.

Neema Lodhia, owner of Wedding Store 24, was responsible for the spectacular show, complete with balcony and fashion show aerial performances by LA’s popular dance company Karmagraphy. This LA bridal show was showcased to Indian brides who are interested in incorporating a gorgeous Indian touch with newer and trendier styles.

“Most all brides wants a unique and "modern" wedding, however still are incorporating the Indian culture and tradition. Indian weddings are similar to a musical-- siblings, cousins and close friends of the bride and groom have to dance their little hearts away on stage to a Bollywood song. I think it is very important to continue that tradition. Now brides and grooms are hiring professionals like Karmagraphy to entertain their guests and add to the modern environment,” Lodhia said.

The vendor exhibition was followed by a flawless poolside fashion show showcasing designers at Frontier Heritage and Shekhar Rahate. Models danced their way (literally!) down the ramp to our favorite Bollywood tunes for an exciting and entertaining performance.

“Our shows are bringing a sexy approach to bridal shows in our community and I its definitely something that was much needed. The shows are here to give them a pleasant wedding planning experience in one place, at one time. We are fortunate to work with vendors that help make the event entertaining and glamorous at the same time,” Lodhia said.

EK 1

Lights! Camera! Action!

Over at Electric Karma, we are dedicated to finding the best locations for our brides to get married. Our staff has deployed scouts all over the world to search for beautiful venues best-suited for your special day. Our ongoing search has yielded beautiful results: we have used sites from Los Angeles to Mumbai and everything in between, each specifically chosen according to the preferences of the EK bride. Just recently in fact, we scouted a beautiful location in Hollywood at Warner Bros. Studios -- one of Hollywood's biggest sets. Grab your cup of chai and get ready for a look into Hollywood’s Bollywood!

The day began with a private tour of the space with Warner Bros. Special Events Executive Director, Hillary Harris.  We got the chance to walk through the gorgeous executive rose gardens, which turned out to have a lot of potential for wedding receptions, cocktail hours, or photo ops. We continued through the studios to check out sets of jungles and lagoons ideal for a romantic reception under the stars. Our tour turned into a meandering walk through various streets bustling with intricate architecture, old town shops, New York-style apartments, and faux theatres. As we walked, we pondered the various ways we could turn the beautiful scenery into an ideal wedding venue.

“Hillary was gracious as ever showing us around.  We loved being in LA to check out Warner Bros. Studios many gorgeous sites. Finding the perfect location for your wedding is important to set your wedding the right way, and our Electric Karma team is always ready to do that for each of our brides,” said Electric Karma Creative Director, Therese Cole Hubbs, who attended the private tour.

The EK team enjoyed its time in Los Angeles checking out the studios. We left excited at the possibility of turning this beautiful space into a gorgeous wedding venue for EK brides. As the bride, you are brought into the site touring process to make sure you find the idyllic location for your wedding!
